Curry sauce recipe...?

I am trying to make a rotisserie chicken basted with curry sauce. I have yellow curry paste, but I want to know how to make it into a sauce/baste without adding coconut milk. Also, I'd like it to be thick enough to pour over rice and have it be saucy, not totally liquid. Does anyone have a simple recipe for me?
