How do I get rid of fleas in my home? Pease help me?

I have a dog but he is strickly an outside dog, never comes inside. We have hardwood floors, with 2 area rugs in the living room. I cant say how many times we have bombed the house.. it works for a day or two then the fleas always come back. We have tried to treat the yard and the dog, both still have fleas. I have tried to use the Raid Flea, it doesnt help. I have heard that Borax works, but how am i suppose to use that with hardwood floors? I have a toddler that constantly gets bit. I wash the sheets CONSTANTLY and we still get bit in the bed.. Can someone help me? Any advice I would greatly appreciate.
