Mystique in X-men 2 dvd deleted scenes?

in the deleted scenes for X2, when Mystique is looking at files on the computer, she sees files on nightcrawler and prints them as well, why did she do that? I know that she is NC's mother in the comics but it didn't look like that was even touched on in the movie, so why would she want the files?
